[UPDATE]: Due to the amount of requests I am receiving about this software, I would prefer if you were not going to use the account to host psybnc or eggdrop, I would prefer you use the account for something a bit more constructive

You can get a cheap shell account with your hosting account at http://www.itshosted.com – I have my site there & it costs about $6 a month. i had trouble finding a host who provided shell access.

Just curious – how many users do you got from that blog? Are you not afraid from testing local exploits, or this is the purpose of that experiment – to thest FreeBSD strenght
Maybe I should post a similar thread in my blog and request users 
Then set up a virtual machine (to be able to fix everything at ease if something goes wrong) and let them login there. It will be interesting.
I’d like to make a similar test, too

For total number of emails/requests, I’d probably say about 30. Doing an experiment like this requires a ridiculously large amount of monitoring of the machine to make sure no one is doing anything bad. Unfortunately I haven’t given out any accounts and closed the current ones because the machine died. I definitely think setting up a virtual machine would be the way to go in the future. Just make sure to segment it from the reset of your traffic
