UPDATE: Check out my new page at http://writequit.org !
Hi, I’m Matthew Lee Hinman (call me Lee),
I’m currently working as a Sysadmin at a storage company. I am very interested in security as well as the development of security tools (mostly in scripting langugaes like Perl and Ruby). I have written a few tools myself (aimsnarf and nsm-console so far). I enjoy working with Linux, BSD and Solaris, and I tolerate working with Windows
. I am involved in the development of the Hex NSM liveCD.
I also do photography, although I have been very busy lately.
If you want to contact me, use the information in the small blurb on the upper-right of the main page. If you want to hang out and chat, feel free to join myself and all the Hex guys in #rawpacket on irc.freenode.net.
Curious about the title? “:wq” is a Vim command to save the current file, then quit. The most often used vim command for myself
Curious about the name? “Thnetos” is a Greek word meaning “Liable to die, of or having mortality”. A daily reminder that I am only a mere mortal.
Curious about the quote? “Tu fui, ego eris” is a Latin quote meaning “What you are, I was. What I am, you will be”, I thought it appropriate for the teaching/learning relationship I hope my blog posts bring.
If you absolutely must know what I look like, you can see a picture of me here.

Hi Lee. Nice page and I like the wq! vi is second to none. I found your site as I was perusing images of the Sun Blade 150 – I just bought one for a “steal” on eBay and wanted more info than I currently have. I use Debian and the BSDs as well – new to Solaris. If you have any tips on your page, I’ll be looking for them. Cheers! Fred
